Texas Holdem Rules
Here are poker rules for the game of Texas Holdem, which is probably the most popular pokergame played around the world. This is shown, in part, by the fact that the final game of the World Series of Poker is a $10,000 entry in no limit Texas Holdem. The official regulations of Holdem Poker are the same for most card rooms, both online and in traditional casino settings.
Generally, Holdem is played with anywhere from two to ten players. Each player is first dealt two cards face down, after which the first betting round ensues. Poker rules make this, and all subsequent rounds of betting, are always done in a clockwise order. The first person to make a bet is the person sitting on the left hand side of the dealer. This first round of betting is also sometimes referred to as the pre-flop betting round. Each player makes a bet that is based on what they expect they will be able to form with the community cards later.
Next, the first three community cards are dealt. These cards are dealt face up so that everyone may apply them to his hand. Each player now makes another bet, which is based on how these three community cards affect the hand. The dealing of community cards and betting rounds continue until five community cards are in the middle of the table and each player has bet twice more.
It is now time for the showdown. Each player tries to make the best five card hand possible from the seven cards that comprise his two and the five community cards. Texas Hold’em rules dictate that a player may use both of his own two cards that were dealt face down, one, or even none to form the final hand.

Caribbean Stud
Based on the rules of the game of 5-Card stud, Caribbean Stud calls for poker players to ante then receive 5 cards face down; the dealer also gets 5 cards, 4 of which are down and 1 turned up. If the dealer has at least A-K , his hand is said to “qualify” and enables further betting. If a player wishes to stay in, he bets 2 times the ante now. The dealer turns up his cards, and if he does not have a qualifying hand then the player gets even money on his ante bet and his second bet is returned. If the dealer has A-K or better, then he plays against your hand and pays those who beat him according to a set chart. Usually the house poker rules allow for: A pair or high card hand gets 1 to 1; two pairs wins 2 to 1, three of a kind gets 3 to 1; straights win 4 to 1; a flush wins 5 to 1; a boat (full house) garners 7 to 1; quads pay 20 to 1; a straight flush will win 50 to 1; and a royal flush wins 100 to 1.
